The Global Online Academy is happy to announce that Jake Clapp has been appointed Academic Dean for the Global Online Academy. "Jake has been a leader in the online school and a key support to his peers. He has helped define and articulate what excellent online courses should look like," said Michael Nachbar, Director of the Global Online Academy. Jake currently teaches Chemistry at Lakeside School.

For the past eight years Jake taught at Lakeside School in Seattle where he was a leader in integrating technology in the classroom. He has served as a mentor to new faculty and has presented on the topic at the NAIS People of Color Conference.

"I am excited for the opportunity to serve as the Academic Dean for the Global Online Academy," says Jake. "Much of my excitement stems from knowing that online learning will help provide the tools necessary to meet the needs of students and teachers in the coming decades: the increasing need for global awareness; the call for more interdisciplinary coursework; and the need for more flexibility in students' busy schedules."
