The Catalyst Conference

NEW in 2017: We are inviting all member school students, grades 7-12 (not just those taking GOA courses) to present at the conference!

In April 2016, GOA launched a unique capstone project for ten of our courses: the Catalyst Conference, an online event that asked students to design and present projects meant to catalyze change in their communities. More than 250 of our students participated. The task we gave them: apply what you’ve learned in your class to spark local action. The conference was a rousing success, with thousands of visits and hundreds of interactions from within and beyond the GOA consortium.

To build on this success in 2017, GOA is offering its Catalyst Conference curriculum and resources to any member school educator who wants their students to design projects for the conference, which takes place from April 27-April 30, 2017. The curriculum is designed to be embedded into coursework, so can be adjusted to fit specific classes and timetables. This conference is open to all GOA member school educators who work with grades 7-12.
