Online Education

6.1 million college students took at least one online course in 2010

Already a number of schools and colleges, public and private, are exploring or have implemented online learning. The National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) estimates that 20 percent of its members’ students are already taking online courses. Taking an online class offers students many benefits, whether studying together with peers who attend different schools; having greater options available to allow them to delve further into a topic or to discover a passion; learning skills they will need for today’s global society; or just gaining flexibility in their academic schedules.

Our classes are designed to supplement students’ on-campus experiences, not to replace the great teaching and learning that happens in our schools’ on-campus classrooms.

For Students

Our students develop a global awareness that bridges schools, towns, cities, and countries. Students learn to share their local perspectives on global issues with students from all over the world. We currently represent three continents and twelve states and are continually adding new schools to GOA and new voices to our classes.

For Teachers

Teachers become part of an expanded network of excellent educators with whom to collaborate and share ideas and inspiration, which will improve their teaching both online and in the traditional classroom.Teachers from variety of institutions can collaborate with colleagues from all over the country and world on instructional design, curricular resources, tools, and online pedagogy.

For Schools

Collaborating in an online educational enterprise allows our schools to multiply and enhance their strengths, as they connect to a common hub without losing their identities as individual schools and continue to define scholastic excellence. The academy fosters a vital network of schools with a common purpose, enabling a beneficial sharing of ideas and initiatives.
